Federal judge strikes down COVID-19 vaccine and mask mandates for Head Start students, teachers

A federal judge handed down the latest rebuke of the Biden administration by striking down the federal COVID-19 vaccine and mask mandates for teachers and students in the Head Start program.

Judge Terry A. Doughty, on the bench of a U.S. District Court in Louisiana, on Wednesday ruled the federal government cannot require Head Start program teachers, staff and volunteers to be vaccinated against COVID-19, nor can it require adults or students to wear masks. His order “permanently enjoins the vaccine and mask mandate in 24 states,” a release from the Liberty Justice Center says, and impacts 280,000 teachers, staff and volunteers.

In his ruling, he wrote, “The public interest is served by maintaining the constitutional structure and maintaining the liberty of individuals who do not want to take the COVID-19 vaccine. This interest outweighs Agency Defendants’ interests. The public has a liberty interest in not being required to take a vaccine or be fired from their jobs. The public interest must be considered before allowing Agency Defendants to mandate vaccines. Although vaccines arguably serve the public interest, the liberty interests of individuals mandated to take the COVID-19 vaccine outweigh any interest generated by the mandatory administration of vaccines.” Source: Just the News

Biden Admin Silently Erases ‘Unborn Child’ In Legal Argument Pushing Abortion On Religious Medical Workers

The Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA) has taken center stage in the Biden administration’s push to force health care providers to perform abortions. Faith-based organizations have been forced to take action to protect their sincerely held religious beliefs, including the belief that human life begins at the moment of fertilization, from being violated by requirements that health care providers perform abortions.

Shortly after the Dobbs v. Jackson Woman’s Health Organization opinion was released, President Joe Biden signed an executive order directing the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to find ways to make abortion accessible despite the Supreme Court ruling. The order instructed HHS to rely upon EMTALA to ensure that abortion as a treatment option is available in emergency medical situations. Read More … Source: The Federalist

Newsom Reveals Pro-Abortion Ads That Invoke the Bible

Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif) launched a series of ads aimed to promote abortion while invoking the Bible at the same time.

Newsom took to Twitter to announce the release of seven pro-abortion billboards, taking a stab at Christianity on the topic.

“Just launched billboards in 7 of the most restrictive anti-abortion states that explain how women can access care–no matter where they live… to any woman seeking an abortion in these anti-freedom states: CA will defend your right to make decisions about your own health,” Newsom said in a tweet. Israel Acquires Ancient Papyrus Containing Hebrew Inscription of Biblical Name

Israel has acquired a previously unknown ancient papyrus bearing a Hebrew inscription dated to around 2,700 years ago that had long been in possession of a Montana resident, the country’s antiquities authority said Wednesday.

The scrap of papyrus — scarcely larger than a postage stamp with four lines of angular script — is one of just a few from the region in the Late Iron Age, archaeologists said. The Israel Antiquities Authority said it authenticated its age using radiocarbon dating, which corresponded with the age of the text’s writing style.

Joe Uziel, director of the Judean desert scrolls unit, said the matching radiocarbon date and paleographic style makes him “very certain” that it is not a modern forgery.

The papyrus, which bears the Biblical name Ishmael, was likely looted sometime in the last century from a cave in the Judean Desert, he said. Source: CBN News

Satanic Temple approved for event at Pennsylvania school district

Directors of a school district in Pennsylvania announced that an application was approved for “the Satanic Temple to use our facility as we were required to do so by Board policy No. 707.”

A statement goes on to say an event will be held on September 24 at the Northern York County School District. The policy also requires that the school pay for rental, custodial, security, and auditorium tech fees.

“As a public school district, the use of our school facilities must be permitted without discrimination. We cannot and do not arbitrarily pick and choose which organization may or may not use our facilities. If we allow one organization, we must allow all organizations, provided they satisfy the conditions and application requirements as set forth in Policy 707,” the statement read in part.

The Atlantic: How Extremist Gun Culture Is Trying to Co-opt the Rosary

Just as the AR-15 rifle has become a sacred object for Christian nationalists in general, the rosary has acquired a militaristic meaning for radical-traditional (or “rad trad”) Catholics. On this extremist fringe, rosary beads have been woven into a conspiratorial politics and absolutist gun culture. These armed radical traditionalists have taken up a spiritual notion that the rosary can be a weapon in the fight against evil and turned it into something dangerously literal.

Their social-media pages are saturated with images of rosaries draped over firearms, warriors in prayer, Deus Vult (“God wills it”) crusader memes, and exhortations for men to rise up and become Church Militants. Influencers on platforms such as Instagram share posts referencing “everyday carry” and “gat check” (gat is slang for “firearm”) that include soldiers’ “battle beads,” handguns, and assault rifles. One artist posts illustrations of his favorite Catholic saints, clergy, and influencers toting AR-15-style rifles labeled sanctum rosarium alongside violently homophobic screeds that are celebrated by social-media accounts with thousands of followers. Health care workers fired over vaccine mandate awarded $10 million in settlement

Illinois health care workers who were fired or otherwise impacted by their hospitals’ COVID-19 vaccine mandate will receive a $10 million settlement after filing a lawsuit challenging the rule.

“Let this case be a warning to employers that violated Title VII,” Mat Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel, the group behind the lawsuit, told the Washington Examiner. “It is especially significant and gratifying that this first classwide COVID settlement protects healthcare workers.”

The case centers around workers at NorthShore University HealthSystem, who filed a lawsuit in October 2021 claiming their employer illegally refused to grant any religious exemptions to a COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Source: Fox Business

Source of anti-Trump dossier wants to use classified info for trial defense; special counsel objects

Special counsel John Durham on Wednesday filed a motion to block Igor Danchenko, a key source for the anti-Trump Steele dossier, from using classified information as part of his defense at his upcoming criminal trial.

Mr. Durham’s team filed the objection under seal, so it is unclear why he opposes Mr. Danchenko using the information at his trial, which is set to start in October.

A brief, one-page order accompanying the motion says the government objects to the “use, relevance and admissibility” of the classified information. Source: Washington Times

44% of pregnancies lost during Pfizer COVID vaccine trial, company says vax not to blame

Sprinkled throughout more than 3,600 pages of “adverse events” records from Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine trial is a troubling finding: 44% of pregnant women lost their pregnancies during the trial.

Deplatformed feminist Naomi Wolf’s publication Daily Clout identified 22 of 50 pregnant women classified as experiencing “abortion spontaneous,” “abortion spontaneous complete,” “abortion spontaneous incomplete” or “miscarriage” as of the March 13, 2021, report cutoff date. All eventually received the vaccine, though eight were initially given the placebo.

All are tagged with the codes for “Recovered/resolved,” referring to adverse events without subsequent complications, and “other,” meaning the vaccine played no role in the lost pregnancies. The report doesn’t explain the basis for Pfizer’s conclusions that the vaccine played no role. Source: Just the News

Rand Paul: ‘We will get to the bottom’ of COVID-19’s origins if GOP wins majority

Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul predicted that a GOP majority in Congress would “get to the bottom” of the origins of COVID-19, something that still hasn’t been fully investigated.

“I think most of the mainstream media has kept off of the airwaves a discussion of gain-of-function research or the origins of the virus, but we will get to the bottom of this,” Paul said on a conference call with reporters. “It’s going to take control of committees …

“I’ve talked to Jim Jordan and others about investigating this. I think there’s a great deal of interest in investigating the origins of the virus. I’m very interested in it, but it depends on elections. Elections have consequences. We’ll have to see what happens in November.” Source: Just the News

Parents Push Back: Voters Defund Michigan Town Library Over Sexually Explicit LGBTQ Books

In a direct response to their local library’s acquiring and prominently displaying LGBTQ books and other materials, the citizens of Jamestown, Michigan, recently voted to defund the library.

The township’s Patmos Library will lose 84% of its annual $245,000 budget after more than 62% of voters just refused to approve an annual property tax millage renewal for 2023.  A millage is a percentage tax on property at its assessed value. The current millage is set to expire at the end of this year.

There was never any question on what the vote was about, local resident Jesse Dillman told MLive.   Source: CBN News
